My Style

I have a very casual approach to each portrait session. I typically kick off my shoes and get right down on the floor with the babies or children. I will take my time and let the babies and children be comfortable with the session. I've been told by many clients that I have a lot of patience and that's what makes each portrait session such a success. My goal for every session is to capture natural expressions that show your child's true personality. This may be a smile, a laugh, a sweet expression or even one where the child is not looking at the camera at all. The end result will be portraits that your family will cherish and your friends will admire.

The Studio

The studio is located at my home in North Attleboro, MA. The outdoor area of the studio is a beautifully landscaped waterfront yard located on Falls Pond. During a studio session we can do both indoor studio portraits and outdoor natural light portraits. Outdoor portraits are offered May - November, weather permitting.

Location Sessions

Location sessions can take place at a location of your choice. This can be your home, yard, park or any other location that you choose. Kelli can assist you in deciding what location will work best for your session.

The Session

Every session is tailored to meet the needs of the children and families being photographed. A typical session could last approximately one hour. Most importantly, you will not be rushed through the session and it will be relaxed so everyone can have fun. I will devote ample time to each session to make sure I am able to capture portraits you will cherish.

All portraits can be purchased in color, black and white or sepia toned. You will see samples of these as part of your session proofs. If you have a preference and would like all portraits in black and white, for example, please let Kelli know at the time of the session.

To schedule a session simply email or call Kelli. I will answer any questions you have and once we have scheduled a time I will mail a complete information packet to you that includes general information, clothing suggestions and directions.

Clothing

For all portrait sessions, simple clothing choices are best. Solid color clothing is recommended for a more classic timeless look. Avoid busy stripes and patterns. For a more trendy look, fun colors and outfits with textures and layers work well. Avoid logos and cartoon characters on clothing. For studio portraits we will use a backdrop that compliments whatever look you choose.

For family portraits, it is best to have everyone dress in similar colored clothing for a more unified look. Everyone doesn't have to match exactly, but keeping everyone in the same tones will create a beautiful, classic family portrait. Please remember to keep jewelry to a minimum.

For young babies, bare skin looks best, or even just a simple diaper cover (I have many to choose from in the studio). For baby clothing, try to keep it simple and not too loose; otherwise the material bunches up and takes away from the beauty of the baby. Bare feet are always my preference on babies and children.

Clothing changes are allowed to create a variety of unique portraits. I will work with you to help determine the best clothing choices for your portraits.

Proofs & Print Orders

After your session, we will schedule an order appointment approximately 2 weeks after your portrait session. At this appointment, the proofs from your session will be presented and your order will be taken. Prior to this appointment you will be notified that all of your images are also online in a private web gallery for a preview. This web gallery will be removed after the viewing appointment. Payment in full is expected at this appointment and we gladly except cash, check, MasterCard and Visa. Final prints will be complete approximately 2-3 weeks after the order is placed (framed items and canvas portraits can take longer).
